22 year old Miss Onyinyechi Okegbulam, a final year student of the Federal Polytechnic, Nekede in Owerri who hails from Owerri North Local Government Area of Imo State has been reported shot dead by her boyfriend after she refused his marriage proposal.
She was said to have been called out of her family home by the alleged killer boyfriend at night following her refusal to marry him and he shot her at close range in the head. He was said to have attempted to carry her body into his car but ran away when a woman nearby raised an alarm.
The boyfriend in question is believed to have trained the deceased girl and her failure to keep her side of the bargain by marrying him is thought to have led to the unfortunate incident.
The date for the girl's marriage to another man had already been fixed before her death.
The killer boyfriend remains at large and the security agencies are searching for him.
