PRO BIAFRA PROTESTERS SHOW UP AT CHINA-AFRICA SUMMIT IN SOUTH AFRICA



Members of a pro Biafra group, the indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) were present in Johannesburg, South Africa at the venue of the China-Africa summit for a peaceful protest.
The members, mostly youths carried with them placards and Biafran flags, calling for the recognition of breakaway Biafra and the release of Radio Biafra director, Nnamdi Kanu who was arrested by Nigerian security authorities upon arrival in Nigeria from his United Kingdom base.
The President of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari who was part of the summit, is billed to return to Abuja.

The west London home of Music entrepreneur, Simon Cowell has reportedly been broken into by burglars, this happened early Friday morning at about 2am while he and his family slept inside.

FORTE OIL PETROL TANKER EXPLODES IN LAGOS AFTER FALLING OFF BRIDGE (PICTURES)


A petrol tanker belonging to Forte Oil this early this Saturday morning fell off the Ojuelegba bridge in Lagos, Nigeria at the Barracks bus stop and burst into flames.
Eye witnesses say the petrol tanker which was fully loaded exploded upon impact with the ground and the resultant fire spread through the canal and into the surrounding area. The fire also engulfed a building.

The Randle General Hospital in Surulere which is beside the building that got burnt had its patients evacuated to safety. Luckily, the incident occurred in the early hours of Saturday when the area was not crowded as it usually is.
Reactions to the fire included annoyance with the reoccurrence of tanker accidents to indifference due to the hoarding of fuel by marketers. However, all expressed concern that no life was lost in the inferno.

Reports have it that a source within the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) is alleging that a former Governor of Rivers State, Peter Odili and a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, Bode George each got N100 million from the former National Security Adviser, Colonel Sambo Dasuki (Rtd.) for the prosecution of the last presidential election on March 28, 2015. It is also alleged that the money was sourced from funds that was meant for the purchase of arms for the Nigerian military for its battle against the insurgency by the Islamist terror group, Boko Haram.

It has been reported that Syed R. Farook, 28 and Tashfeen Malik, 27, who were both decked out in body armor and armed with assault rifles and handguns, yesterday, Wednesday opened fire at a meeting inside the Inland Regional Center, San Bernardino, California, USA killing at least 14 people and injuring at least 17 others. The reasons for their action remains unknown though police say Farook, a health inspector who attended the routine meeting, may have left in anger and returned with Malik. The couple, who first met online, eventually saw themselves in Saudi Arabia.

The national assembly of Nigeria today, Tuesday passed a supplementary budget for 2015 amounting to N574.53 billion ($2.89 billion), the budget seeks to provide for fuel subsidies to facilitate the importation of petroleum products to satisfy the demands of motorists across the country.
A member of  the Nigerian Senate said that the national assembly approved an additional N108 billion than what President Muhammadu Buhari requested in order to provide subsidies for imports so as to ensure an uninterrupted supply of petroleum products across the country not only during the Christmas period but through the New Year and into 2016.

Six months after an accident in which he nearly severed his hand with a table saw, hairstylist Robert Ruffin, with a career of over thirty years is back at his salon in Detroit, USA cutting hair at top speed.
He recalls objecting to the medic’s suggestion that his hand hanging by a thread of skin from his arm be amputated by noting to him that it was not completely off. He says that was that mindset that saw him through that day.
