SECRET SANTA IN ACTION

A married couple from out of state has visited Detroit, USA for the eighth straight year playing Father Christmas by giving out so far about $115,000 of theirs to complete strangers. This year as in the past, they have a Free Press reporter, a photographer and a Lincoln Park Police escort with them.

FEMALE SECRET SANTA GETS A HUG IN APPRECIATION
They give out the money in hundred dollars each and they say though not rich, they are just well to do and they give out their money to whom they like and how they want. After all its theirs. They give out the money and follow this up with statements like "Merry Christmas" and "Pay it forward" and "Bless you." You get different reactions from those who receive these gifts, smiles, tears, hugs and statements of appreciation.

The couple who want to remain anonymous says their aim is to assist those in need and share love which they believe can help to overcome hatred and evil. Their giving out is following an example set by Larry Stewart, who over forty years ago used to hand out cash during Christmas to people in Kansas City, Mo. He gave away anonymously and was called Secret Santa. People only got to know of his giving out only after his death in 2007.

They couple have been in the Lincoln Park thrift shops, a White Castle, the Park Restaurant. They have given to the handicap, indigent families, the sick and even handed out some of their money to others to help give out to those they think deserved it.

The secret Santa couple has been all over Detroit spreading love and money and even after all the tears, screams, loud laughter, hugs and promises to spread good cheer filled the day, they feel good about it all adding though "We can't tell anybody else about it, but throughout the holiday season, we'll talk about it every day."

Can we have this love spread all over the world, Merry Christmas everyone.
