NIGERIA'S UNDER 23 FOOTBALL TEAM ESCAPE PLANE CRASH TODAY ON WAY TO GAMBIA


Nigeria's Dream team, the Under 23 national team today, Sunday, November 15, 2015 escaped death when their plane developed a technical fault and had to undertake an emergency landing in Ghana.

The team presently has arrived safely in their destination, Gambia for a 10 day camping for the upcoming Africa U-23 Cup of Nations in Senegal, which qualifies winners for the football event of the 2016 Olympics in Rio, Brazil.

The players and their coach, Samson Siasia and other team managers were initially on-board an Arik Air aircraft which took off from Lagos, Nigeria but lost a tyre on its landing. An aircraft in Ghana was then assigned to convey the team to Gambia but lost an engine on take off and had to make a return to the Kotoko International Airport, Accra for a successful emergency landing without any accident or loss of life.

Arik Air was then left with no option but to request for another plane to eventually fly the team to Gambia.

All is good that ends well.
