KESHI AND LATE WIFE |
The former coach of the Super Eagles, Stephen
Keshi has lost his wife, Kate Keshi, she died after a protracted battle with cancer.
Her husband and family confirmed this. Mrs. Keshi died on Wednesday night, in the United
States of America after a three year fight with the disease. She was aged 54
years.
A statement from Emmanuel Ado, on behalf of the
Keshi family, confirmed that the deceased lost her three year long fight
against the sickness on Wednesday night in the United States.
Mr. Emmanuel Ado on behalf of the Keshi family
said “With gratitude to God the Family of Mr. Stephen Okechukwu Keshi CON
announces the death of our dear wife, mother, daughter and sister Mrs. Kate
Keshi née Abureme,” in a statement it released, asking for prayers for her
husband, 4 children, her mother, brother, sisters and numerous relatives.
Individuals and organizations including the
Nigeria Football Federation have condoled with Keshi on his loss, the NFF
president, Amaju Pinnick, described her death as a big loss.
Keshi in his own reaction said he was still in
shock following her death. He said “she is more like a sister to me and was the
rock behind me and everything I do. My love for her was at first sight”.
