MAN DRESSED AS CHRISTMAS TREE BRINGS FUN TO THE RESIDENTS OF STREETS IN TOKYO, JAPAN

JOSEPH TAME IN THE CHRISTMAS TREE COSTUME

Christmas is a period of love and there are various ways of love being expressed and in Tokyo; a British man is showing love in his own way by spreading fun.
The man, Joseph Tame, dresses up as a Christmas tree, with lights and decorations and goes round the streets of Tokyo especially where there are no lights and Christmas decorations as according to him he wants the residents in such areas to have a feel of what obtains in the areas of Tokyo which are well lit up and decorated for the Christmas.

For the man who owns a small video production and digital media business, it is fun to him as he spreads the Christmas cheer making others to laugh and smile where they are not expecting it.
He says he constructed the Christmas tree using an aluminum frame which he wrapped with two rucksacks and inserted the branches from two fake Christmas trees into them. The Christmas tree uses 99 batteries, 30 meters of wiring to illuminate it and took 60 days to construct.
Tame says he began going into the streets dressed as a Christmas tree last week spending a few hours each time and he notes that "the reaction here on the streets have been amazing.” He adds that people have had sudden burst of laughter, some have screamed in surprise, others in delight.
He talks of many people wanting to take photographs with him in his costume. Tame states that one of his desires is to break the social barriers among the residents of the city. He says Tokyo is a great city but people keep to themselves and his outings causes the people to have fun together. He adds that his appearance gets people transfixed even as he explains to them that he is just being a Christmas tree.
This is not the first time that Tame has been up to something unique, he is already known in Japan for participating in marathons putting on windmills on his head and cheering on other runners in a bid to put smiles on the people's faces.
Tame says he knows Christmas is not recognized in Japan and most people work on that day but he hopes his putting on the costume that day can let many see a bit of Christmas on the day. Way to go Mr. Tame and you are wished success in your outings.
