The President of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari today, Wednesday, November 11, 2015 inaugurated his 36 man Federal Executive Council (FEC) after many months of anticipation by Nigerians. Some of his assignments of portfolio include that of Minister of Petroleum which he kept for himself as earlier hinted. He, however, appointed Emmanuel Ibe Kachikwu, present GMD of the state oil firm NNPC as junior oil minister.

The FEC is made up mostly of politicians but the President also appointed technocrats including Okechukwu Enelamah, who came from the biggest private equity firm African Capital Alliance to take up the post of minister for industry, trade and investment.
The former governor of Rivers State, Rotimi Amaechi would serve as minister of transportation while the former governor of Lagos State, Babatunde Fashola is to head the ministry of power, works and housing.
Former investment banker Kemi Adeosun is the minister of finance putting her in charge of Africa's largest economy.
The President also merged some ministries as earlier anticipated but assigned each minister a portfolio contrary to hints that some minister would have none.
