Nigeria's Ms. Funmi Iyanda, the independent film producer and host of the exciting talk show New Dawn with Funmi creates history as she receives an honorary fellowship from the University of Cumbria, North West England, a first for an African woman.

The award takes place tomorrow, Wednesday, November 25, 2015 at the famous Carlisle Cathedral in Cumbria, United Kingdom which was established by the Anglican church over 900 years ago.

Ms. Iyanda has worked in collaboration with the University of Cumbria's Institute for Leadership and Sustainability (IFLAS) for over a number of years achieving great results which makes her a role model for the growing number of African students at the university. She receives the award in recognition of her contribution to global human rights and sustainability.
She is a director of Creation Television in the UK, which is into film production using classic African literary content to adapt films for a global audience. She is CEO of Ignite Media and also founder of Change-A-Life Foundation, which acts as a link between indignant but exceptional persons and organizations with the capacity and willingness to meet the needs of the people.
