Millionaire
businessman and owner of Welsh based CK Supermarkets; Christopher Kiley in a
bid to get to lunch at a country manor disrupted international flights for
holidaymakers by flying his helicopter through Heathrow airspace. His 10 minute
flight stopped air traffic as it went through into the controlled zones around Heathrow,
Britain's busiest airport.
Mr.
Kiley, aged 62 years, caused a temporary halt of all northbound flights as a security
alert was set off as his helicopter flew as low as 300ft after flying two miles
into controlled airspace near London’s Heathrow Airport.
The
Magistrates who heard Kiley, of Caswell, near Swansea, after his apology for
his actions fined him fined £1,700 and ordered him to pay costs of £600.
