FUEL SCARCITY CONTINUES TO PUNISH NIGERIANS

QUEUE AT FUEL STATION IN CALABAR

The fuel scarcity situation in Nigeria seems to have defied all efforts by the authorities to stem it. Week after week, all
hope for a solution seems to fade away like a dream. In Calabar, Cross River state, Nigeria, pictures like those above are the reality most motorists wake up to every morning.

You can imagine the effect this scarcity, which many say is artificial, has on practically every other thing... food, transportation, generally the price of things have gone up. As expected the ordinary man bears the brunt of this.

It is unfortunate that this has become the mode of availability of fuel in Nigeria, a country blessed with abundant quantity of crude oil but cursed some say with less knowledge of how to manage this abundance.

Can we have a permanent solution to this scourge and bring smiles to the faces of Nigerians. Believe me even the government would feel a big burden lifted off its shoulders when the citizens no longer face the burden of No Fuel.

For now, a litre of fuels sells for as high as N500 sometimes instead of the official rate of N87.
