CONVICTED US MAN CLEARED OF RAPE BY DNA TEST 16 YEARS AFTER

LUIS VARGAS
The convicted man, Luis Vargas aged 46 years was yesterday cleared of a rape conviction by a court in Los Angeles, USA after 16 years of incarceration.

The judge upturned the conviction based on new evidence from a DNA test which showed that he was wrongly convicted just like he had proclaimed his innocence at his sentencing in 1999.

The DNA evidence rather shows that the rape was committed by the Teardrop rapist who is wanted by the FBI for over 3 dozen sexual assaults. The Teardrop rapist is so called because of the teardrop tattoo on his face, his last known sexual assault occurred in 2013.

The Los Angeles prosecutors blame the conviction of Mr. Vargas on mistaken eyewitness identification.

Mr. Vargas in tears upon the not guilty verdict called out his love to his mother and his daughter in the courtroom.
