| AGAINST CHILD RAPE |
A
22 year old man Ganiu Amusa was on Sunday arrested by the Alakuko Division of
the Lagos State Police Command for allegedly raping a five-year-old boy, name
withheld, in the Alakuko area of the state.
It
is reported that Amusa was arrested following the discovery by the parents of
the minor that their child had been sexually abused. The family resident at Oremeji
Street, found out about the incident when the child’s mother consequent upon
his complaint of pain in his anus got him to talk of how he developed the
pain.
The
mother, Adenike Ejigbo said he told her that Amusa who is resident at Hanson Street,
took him somewhere and put his manhood into his anus. The troubled mother is
said to have exposed the facts of her son’s narration to others and the police
was called in, with a report lodged at the Alakuko Police Division.
The
suspect when apprehended is said to have confessed to committing the crime and further
investigation of the matter moved to the State Department of Criminal
Investigation, Yaba, Lagos.
The
police confirmed the details of the incident between the accused, Amusa and the
minor as stated by the mother and also the fact that the suspect did not deny
he committed the act. It is reported that the suspect is rather putting the
blame on the devil for what transpired.
Speaking
further, the Public Relations Officer of the Lagos State Command, Deputy Police
Public Relations Officer, ASP Aliyu Giwa, confirmed the custody of the suspect
by the State Criminal Investigation Department pending the conclusion of its
job after which he would be charged to court.
