Reports
have it that Mr. Hosea Azi, the Chairman, Management Committee of Jos East
Local Government Area of Plateau State, who was allegedly kidnapped by unknown men
two days after he was sworn-in by the state governor, Simon Lalong, has died in
a motor accident.
The
kidnappers who struck last Friday night in Kufang along Miango road in the
central area of Jos were heading towards Abuja with the deceased after his kidnap,
when within Keffi, Nassarawa State, their vehicle got involved in a severe
crash due to high speed.
A
member of the deceased’s family said two of the kidnappers confessed while
receiving treatment for their injuries sustained in the crash. Also, DSP Abuh
Emmanuel, Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the State Police Command, confirmed
the incident, but could not give further details.
