State has finally been successfully concluded by the Independent National
Electoral Commission (INEC) and a winner declared in the person of the current
Governor, Seriake Dickson of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). The supplementary

Saturday, January 9 was basically a contest between the PDP candidate and that

The build up to the election was one
filled with tense moments but the election yesterday was not as trouble filled
as expected. INEC first announced the results of the six other LGAs in which it
had conducted yesterday’s supplementary elections and then after a delay to
wait for the final collation of the Southern Ijaw LGA elections results, the supervisory
body came out with the result today.
The final collation covered results of the
elections in Yenagoa, Nembe, Ekeremor, Ogbia, Sagbama, Brass and ofcourse the
Southern Ijaw LGA and the final computation led to declaration of Governor
Seriake Dickson of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) as the official winner
of the election which now stands concluded.
