LIST OF THE WORLD'S MOST GENEROUS COUNTRIES
The recent list of the world's most generous countries released by the Charities Aid Foundation (CAF), an international charity registered in the United Kingdom which has offices in nine countries covering six continents has named the United States of America and Myanmar as the most generous countries worldwide in a study covering 135 countries.


The listing which has three categories namely, Donating money to a charity, Volunteering one's time to charity and helping a stranger or someone you do not know who is in need of help and guess what the USA was the only country according to the report that came first in all of the three rankings.

Myanmar which came up 2nd is believed to have been influenced by the practice of Buddhism in the country which encourages its followers to give to charity. The practice of Buddhism in Sri Lanka which comes 9th on the list is also seen as being responsible for the giving nature of its citizens.

On the African scene, the first country is Kenya which ranks 15 on the international list, Nigeria known for its friendly people comes up 21. Other African countries listed include South Africa which is 34, same with Uganda, next is Guinea which is placed as number 40, while Liberia comes up as the 45 most generous country in the world.

According to the presentation on CNN, the report states that Africans in diaspora also make a tangible contribution to giving as they remit $33 billion per month.

The last country on the list is Yemen at 135. On the continental ranking, Oceania comes first, then America, followed by Asia, Europe and Africa in that order.

The report is encouraging as it shows that love still exist as it is shown that 2.3 billion persons offer help to a stranger each month.

The report really does show that love and care is still out there, it shows that not only can you receive love but you are encouraged to also give love, this is one virtue that binds the world together. And you know what? It does not have to cost you anything, volunteering your time can as well be very much appreciated.
