THREE CRUSHED TO DEATH BY TRAIN IN ILORIN, NIGERIA

Yesterday, Sunday, December 20, was a sad day in Ilorin, Kwara state of Nigeria as 3 persons lost their lives in the afternoon when their car was crushed by a moving train.

Reports have it that the victims, two young men and a lady were inside a Toyota Camry car with all the four windows wound up when the train said to coming from the northern part of Nigeria to Offa ran into the car crushing the occupants to their untimely deaths.


According to people who saw the accident happen, the train was traveling at a fast pace approaching the car when those nearby tried to call the attention of those in the car by shouting and other means of alerting but the three occupants inside the Toyota Camry car failed to notice and drive away from the railway line they had unknowingly parked on due to the wound up windows.

The incident which occurred at the railway line at Kulende area of Zango caused commotion in the area as people close by ran for their life. This reaction may have been due to the fact that such a train accident had never occurred there before.

However, after things settled down, the relevant authorities removed the remains of the victims to the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital.
