John Boyega, 23, of the “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” fame recently recalled
how he celebrated landing the role of Finn in the film by taking co-star Harrison
Ford out for a dinner in Peckham.
This
information was contained in a video from that Bafta’s Britannia Awards tribute
to Harrison Ford. He says they had dinner at Nigerian restaurant 805, which is
located beneath a block of flats on Old Kent Road in South-West London in
September 2014.

He
explained that Harrison was quite at home in the restaurant, walking in and
going straight to his table without seeking to attract any attention and sure
did eat a Nigerian meal of egusi soup and pounded yam while Boyega had jollof rice
and plantain.
He
says Ford, 73, was very simple and also spoke about how he playfully asked Ford
to let him pay the bill.
The
tribute also speaks about the stunned reaction of the restaurant manager,
Emmanuel James and his staff when they got to know that their guest was Indiana
Jones and Han Solo in the movies they watch. Emmanuel says staff kept on asking
in disbelief if it was really Harrison in their midst.
He
told the Guardian that “someone came out the back to see me and was like ‘Harrison
Ford’s here’ and I did not believe it.”
James
says Boyega requested the waiter for privacy so nobody took any pictures of the
duo as they had their meal so as not to disturb them.
End
of the meal and Boyega, true to his word, settled the bill for the meal with a
tip of course. Hope Harrison goes back to the restaurant for an encore.
