E! News, the entertainment news division of the E! network is all about news on reality stars, entertainment occasions and showbiz gossip but the network based in the United States is shifting grounds as it takes on a star from other climes with the Nigerian musician D’Banj on focus in an upcoming news feature, which is part of the entertainment channel's Africa Special edition.

Dapo Daniel Oyebanjo aka D’Banj, celebrity musician, ex-partner of Don Jazzy in their Mo’Hits Records label and current on his own with Dbanj Records has announced that he would be appearing in an exclusive interview on E! News, he stated this on his Instagram account. He actually posted a snapshot of the promo for the show with the caption: "Catch a Brand New E! News Special Thursday Dec 17th at 20:00 on channel 124 and learn the true story behind me, The KokoMaster @ENews."

D’Banj’s TV special to be broadcast on December 17, at 8pm, would be the very first time a Nigerian artist is to be featured on E! News. It promises to be a must watch going by the response seen online with many expressing anticipation for the rare broadcast which would put the musician on a new pedestal.

D'banj, 38, rose to prime light with his debut album, No Long Thing which was produced by another Nigerian, Don Jazzy and released in 2005 under the Mo’Hits record label. He made great progress with other hits recognized globally. He is one of the Nigerian musicians who have made a mark in the industry setting the pace for the upcoming ones. He capped it in 2011 when he was named best international act (Africa) at the BET Awards. D’Banj was made the official African ambassador for Beats by Dre. He is the first United Nations Youth Ambassador for Peace from Nigeria. D’Banj is also involved in reality show with his Koko Mansion which premiered in 2012 and in agriculture where he has a brand of garri, a local meal made from cassava.

With this D’Banj surely has a December to remember, this coupled with the kickoff of his Koko nationwide tour to mark his 10th year in the music industry is sure a good way to go into the New Year.

We celebrate D’Banj as he continues to rise in his chosen career and wish him the best.
