The
older brother of Trinidadian American music star, Nicki Minaj is in court for
raping a child. 37 year old Jelani Maraj is facing a charge of first degree rape
of a minor aged 12 years.
He was released by the Nassau County Correctional Center on a $100,000 bond on Thursday, Dec, 3 and would be reappearing in court on Dec. 9. The Nassau County district attorney's office which is prosecuting is also charging him with first degree sexual conduct against a child. The trial is before a court in Long Island, New York.
Nicki Minaj, born Onika Tanya Maraj was at the August 2015 marriage of her brother, Jelani to fiancée Jacqueline Robinson which took place in Baldwin, New York, and expressed her great joy about the union and her brother.
There is still no reaction to the charges from Nicki Minaj or her representatives.
