The Kenyan Parliamentary on Monday, November 16, 2015 threw out a draft Anti- Gay Bill from the country's opposition Republican Liberty Party's Legal Secretary, Mr. Edward Onwong'a nyakeriga which
sought to provide for gays from Kenya to serve a life sentence upon conviction while the foreign gays in Kenya would face a sentence of death by public stoning.
The Parliament's Justice and Legal Affairs Committee which reviewed the draft Bill stated that it disagreed with its provisions as it was of the opinion that it was unnecessary as Article 45 of the Kenyan constitution already provided adequate safeguards and protection for family values as it allowed for marriage only between the opposite sex.
The opposition party which midwifed the draft Bill, however, expressed dissatisfaction with its non recommendation by the Justice and Legal Affairs Committee.
