The activities to the 2015 edition of Africa's biggest street party, the Calabar Carnival which holds annually in Calabar, Nigeria commenced today, Saturday, November 13, 2015 with the first dry run that had in participation the members of all the carnival bands.
The dry run was kicked off with an inauguration by the Cross River State Governor, Sen. (Prof.) Ben Ayade represented by his deputy, Prof. Ivara Esu with the five bands comprising the 2014 winner Masta Blasta, Bayside, Freedom, Passion-4 and Seagull represented in the event which took its usual route through the streets of Calabar to the excitement of the spectators. This is the 11th anniversary of the carnival which the governor has promised would be the best ever. See pictures here of today's dry run and let's watch out for more.
