SUPREME COURT OF NIGERIA DECIDES AGAINST GOV. WIKE OF RIVERS STATE.

The Supreme Court of Nigeria today, Tuesday, October 27, 2015 handed the Governor of Rivers State , Nyesom Wike, Esq. another southward knock by refusing him success in his bid to have the sitting of the Rivers State Election Tribunal in Abuja declared as illegal and its judgement therefore a nullity.
In the judgement read by Justice Amiru Sanusi, the Supreme Court held that the Tribunal was right to have relocated to Abuja following the threat of insecurity in Rivers State at the time the Tribunal was created.
With this ruling, the governorship election must hold in 90 days time as ordered in the judgement of the Tribunal.
